The Almond Stick works on GLASS too?

Many years ago, probably as far back as the 1990′s we started getting orders from different glass and mirror companies. We didn’t think much about it until we were getting LOT’S of orders from these stores/companies. Finally I asked how they were using the Almond Stick. They don’t use it on the scratches on the surface of the glass or mirrors. When they cut a piece of glass, they use it to add a factory look to the polished edges of cut glass and mirrors.

The MSN article….

Good afternoon! So glad the 3 day weekend is almost here!
Yesterday I was talking to a new customer placing his first order. He asked me if I had any sales sheets or other reading material that he could pass along to his sales people, so they know a little more about the Almond Stick. I started talking about the MSN article that is highlighted on the HOME page of the website. And to be honest, I just realized myself that if you scroll your mouse over the whole top of the first page, you can click on it and it will take you to that MSN article. And also, Featured on MSN.com! (in red) on the home page is a link to that article. I just hung up the phone with Will, my web designer, who told me how to put the link on here too, but I can’t figure out what he meant-that’s why I make Almond Sticks and he designs websites….lol, right?
…anyway, when this article was first posted, I remember looking at my inbox that morning and saying to my dad that there must be something wrong with the internet or my computer because it said I had over 1000 new emails. Once I took a closer look I found out that they were ORDERS and a few questions, that came from people reading that article! It was really exciting for us to get so many orders in one day, and for several weeks after that.
So the whole point of telling you this, is so you go back to the HOME page and click on that MSN article. The Almond Stick is #10- you’ll see what I mean when you get there.

I’m so excited at the response we’ve gotten with our new website! Thanks to everyone who has checked it out.

I want to send A couple of SHOUT-OUT’s:

-To Will Hammel of http://www.hammelcreativemedia.com, for working so hard on our site. He put up with way too many questions from me and way too many changes as we moved forward into creating the site. Every day, I’d call him “what about this” and “can you change that?” And I still call him every day with more things I want to learn about within the site.

-Dawn Lowe of www.digitalbitzphotography.com. Dawn’s creative photography makes me smile every time I look at the site. She too, had to put up with way too many questions and changes from me, but she just kept on snapping those pictures until I got what I was looking for…There are so many more that she took that didn’t go up on the site-we are still deciding where to put them. Don’t you love the one of her cat looking at the Almond Stick?

And talking him into taking his picture was near impossible – I finally just walked in the office and told him “it’s time, follow me, we’re taking your picture” .

WELCOME to our redesigned website!

It’s been a long time since I’ve added a blog entry simply because something changed on the Yahoo! admin page of the blog entries, and I couldn’t get to the blogging page anymore.

In the meantime, I hope you all have found our FACEBOOK page “TIBET ALMOND STICK”.

I’m excited about our new and exciting new site. Take a minute and look around-I’ve found out some more history about my Great-Grandfather Leo Reed – he is the inventor of the Tibet Almond Stick.

We’ve highlighted our history of container changes – The picture of all six of them lined up – from 1908 til present makes me so proud to be a part of this 100+ year old company.

Take note of the most current can- We changed it to say “WIPE OUT FURNITURE AND FLOORING SCRATCHES QUICK AS A WINK.” Wood flooring companies are a growing part of our customer list. The Tibet Almond Stick works wonders on surface scratches on all kinds of wood floors!

Gosh, haven’t written in awhile……..and I want to introduce Jared, the newest member of our team. As is our pattern, Jared is another friend of Billy’s. Actually he’s another one of my (adopted) sons, like John and Phil. Jared started back in November and is working part time while he attends college. His smile, great attitude and sense of humor have already proven to bring lots of laughs while we work. Jared is a highly motivated young man, and does his job well-I actually saw him timing himself while working in order to make his work more time efficient! I’m glad that we’re able to add another member to our team, and thrilled that my son has such a great group of friends.

I recently RE-discovered a can of the Tibet Almond stick on my shelf along with “other” furniture cleaners, etc.
I remember this product in my Grandparents,& parents homes 50+ years ago, & the WONDERFUL job it did covering scratches on wood furniture.
I have many.many of those same pieces of furniture in MY home today.
I just tried it on a piece of furniture now & showed my wife how well it worked. She was amazed how well it worked, & had never heard of it.I am glad that the product STILL exists & is available after all these years.

BUCKWOLD WESTERN and HOME HARDWARE – it’s official, we’re in Canada!

FINALLY ! The big announcement I’ve been so excited about. It all started about a year ago, I was contacted by the assistant manager in the Hardwood Division of Buckwold Western Ltd in Vancouver , Canada . Turns out he had tested our product on a number of Hardwood floors, Laminate and other flooring products. His test results were overwhelming as he was now not only interested in Zenith Almond Stick as a solution to scratching problems in flooring, but also in the distribution rights for Canada. The question at the time was if we could handle the size of orders he anticipated. We spent a few months on labeling requirements for Canada and finally managed to make that work. The opening order was the largest single order we have shipped on one truck. Of course we needed to take a few photo’s. With all the inquiries I hear from all over the world, for some reason nothing has ever come from them…UNTIL NOW !!! This is an exciting time, and encouraging that good things happen unexpectedly.

I’d like to introduce BUCKWOLD WESTERN — our exclusive Canadian distributor. To make things even more exciting, they then started their distributorship by putting Almond Sticks in HOME HARDWARE STORES all over Canada. Here’s a little about Buckwold:

Buckwold Western Ltd. traces its history back to 1925 when the Buckwold Family established a small dry goods business in Saskatoon. The business has operated since that date and remains a privately held, family managed enterprise.

In 1950, the business began distributing floor covering products and, in 1955, became a distributor of Armstrong flooring products. In 1998, after 43 years of distributing Armstrong products, Buckwold Western was named exclusive distributor of these products for Western Canada.

As the company grew, new warehouse facilities were established to enable further market penetration and coverage. At this time, warehouse distribution facilities exist in Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver with the head office in Saskatoon. Sales teams operate out of each location allowing market coverage from Thunder Bay in the East to Victoria in the West.
Ok so I pulled that right off their website….I couldn’t have said it any better myself, so why not!

So, the picture above was at the Home Hardware Fall Market. Buckwolds introduced it to them months ago. After one demonstration and reminding them the Almond Stick is 100% natural…they listed it. Tony Fun from Buckwolds is sitting behind the giant Almond Stick can. You might even notice the can reads “ WIPE OUT FLOORING SCRATCHES …” Buckwold Western made the change as their marketing focus is on the flooring industry. Rest assured that the product is the exact same as the original. And for our appreciated Canadian customers, don’t be surprised if you are redirected for purchases closer to home in the near future. This will definitely help on shipping costs. That can looks sooo big, I want one…sigh

(maybe I’ll snag one at the next Home Hardware Show-I’m hoping to get to go!)

We are so busy here at the Almond Stick factory that I haven’t had time to blog at all. There is a really big announcement that I am so excited to make, but can’t quite yet. But it’s keeping us busy enough that I’ve been dragging my youngest in to work with me……Meet James. His name is actually – are you ready? James Cameron MacInnes Taylor- He’s named after my dad- you know, THE PRESIDENT? yup that guy. James is pretty familiar with all that goes on here, he came to work with me often before he started school. I still remember, kinda silly, ten o’clock every morning, the catering truck would pull up across the street. He’d be waiting at the window. “Mom the garbage truck is here! ” and he’d go get the money off my desk left for that purpose. He would walk to the curb and wait for one of the nice employees at the company across the street to cross him. Sometimes I would even get a candy bar from the “garbage truck”. Anyway, hm, memories. Now James is getting ready to start High School, and comes to Zenith to help – just because.

I have a black and red can of Tibet Almond Stick that’s been in the family for at least fifty years. I love its exotic smell. Like magic, I just finished “effacing” scratches on my oak roll top desk using my Zenith product. It shines!

Hello, Jill. I recently wrote an article on my experience with the Tibet Almond Stick. It’s a positive review of the product. I had found one in an antique hutch, and it worked just as good as ever. Anyway, please take a look at my article, and feel free to post a paragraph on your blog or site and a link to the site where I posted it. I think you’ll enjoy my story, and it’s a nice testimonial for the product.

Please keep in mind that I can’t made changes to info once it’s published, so if the old stick isn’t as old as my research said it is, it will have to remain the way it is written. I’ve written reviews and articles to promote products in the past and later regretted sharing them with the companies since they were all too willing to point out what they didn’t like about what I had to say – even though it was all positive. Go figure! It’s free advertising, but of course some still complain.

Thank you for your time, and I hope you enjoy reading about my experience and the comments others have left on the page. The comments are as interesting as the article.

I’ve got an old red, yellow and black can that I found at grandma’s house, it still has the ‘Chicago 44, Illinois’ address on it, “will Efface 1,000 Scratches” Could you tell me how old it is??
